Learning at BHC—We’ll never be done. That’s on purpose.

At BHC, education isn’t an obligation, it’s a passion. When it comes to our youth education, we believe that Torah and Jewish community are for everyone. We work to ensure religious school education meets our students where they are and helps them establish strong roots in holidays, lifecycle events, Hebrew language, and Jewish pride.

As a guiding principle of our educational program, we have created a model of education that presumes that everyone belongs, and works to provide the supports and accommodations needed to make this possible. JLAB (Jewish Learning at Baltimore Hebrew Congregation), and its previous iterations of youth education, have made this work by investing in the appropriate teachers, support staff and classroom space.

Adult Learners

For lifelong, adult learners, we offer ongoing opportunities from our clergy and guest instructors. Adult learners can engage in traditional Jewish modes like Torah study and learning Hebrew language and responses to more contemporary lines of inquiry, such as geopolitics, the role of immigration in contemporary society, LGBTQ issues in Jewish spaces, and more.

Young Learners

For the youngest members of our community, there is the E.B. Hirsh Early Childhood Center (a BHC & JCC partnership). This full-service early childhood center provides a loving, Jewish spot to cradle the youngest among us, and plants the seeds of a joyful Jewish future for children starting as early as 6 weeks through Pre-K.
