We’ll get through it—together

BHC Cares is the formal communal support group for the congregation. A lay-led and staff supported group, strives to support our congregants wherever they are and whatever their challenges. Our members and staff help and support each other. All of our efforts can be found on this page, and are classified by type of assistance.

Caring for Caregivers

Caring for others takes a toll. Come together on the third Tuesday of each month in the BHC library at 2:30 pm.

Support
Bereavement Group

Congregants and family members can be supported by our community at a time of loss. BHC member Robert Cohen, PhD, PA, is the facilitator. The group will meet for six consecutive Sunday mornings.

Maintaining Connections
Clergy Visits

BHC Cares coordinates visits by our clergy and lay leaders to BHC members who live at North Oaks, Roland Park Place, Edenwald and the Atrium, in addition to our clergy’s ongoing attention to members who in need of support.

Phone Connection

Volunteers call congregants who are unable to get out. A simple call can let homebound members know they are not forgotten.

Food Delivery
Meal Makers

Offer a gesture of love by providing meals to fellow congregants at difficult life moments. For example: those who have lost a loved one, brought home a new baby or who are recovering from illness.

Education

BHC Cares offers a variety of educational programs and speakers throughout the year. Topics include health care, aging, accessibility and inclusion.
